Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can we just come in and play?
A: We offer Open Play times, check out our Information page for Open Play schedule and rates. There are no "drop-offs" for Open Play. Parents must accompany kids at all times during Open Play.
Q: Is there an age limit for playing at Monkey House?
A: Our play arena is best for ages 2 to 10, but adult can play on them too! The inflatables, climbers and foam pit can be dangerous for children under 2 years old. Children under 2 years old are welcome to come, but they must be accompanied by an adult at all times for their safety.
Q: Can we bring in our own food and/or drinks for our party?
A: We do allow outside cake and cupcakes to be brought in for scheduled private parties only- NOT Open Play. Otherwise, we do not allow any other outside food or drinks. Sorry, it is just too messy.
Q: How many guests can I bring to my party?
A: You are allowed 36 guests max. for parties- kids and parents included. Our party room has limited seating capacity.
Q: How much advanced notice do I need to schedule a party?
A: We recommend reserving your party date at least 3-6 weeks or more in advance. However, you can schedule a party in as little as 72 hours notice, if time slots are available.
Q: Is a deposit required to reserve a party?
A: Yes, a $75 NON REFUNDABLE deposit is required to reserve a party and it applies to the party price.
Q: When do I pay for my party?
A: As your party checks in on your scheduled party date, we will review your order, make any additions or changes and collect the remaining balance due payment after your party ends.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover card and cash payments.
Sorry, we do NOT accept checks.
Q: Can we have more time in the party room?
A: We have very little flexibility on the actual party date due to multiple parties scheduled on that same day. However, if you would like to have less time in the play arena and more in your party room, just let your Party Host know and we’ll make those arrangements. It is usually not possible to extend your time in the party room unless prearranged. However, if you know you want a longer party than 2 hour, please contact us and we can book a 3½ hour party (2 hours in the play arena and 1½ hour in party room), but they must be scheduled in advance and cost a bit more.
Q: Can we start in the party room?
A: Sorry, no. Full bellies and jumping are not a good mix, so we require that you start your event in the play arena then the party room.
Q: Can we have more than one birthday guest of honor?
A: Yes, of course! That is a great way to throw a party on a budget- combined it with a friend! (Although, you still have a maximum of 36 guests total.) Just let us know the names of each guest of honor, so we can be sure to put them on the wall.
Q: Why would I want to have a party at Monkey House?
A: It’s easy, convenient and because it’s the best time ever!
For about the same cost as renting a bounce house, you get a huge play arena exclusively for your party…plus we do all the set up, clean up, it’s indoor- so no worries about the weather and you don’t have a bunch of guests trashing your home!
Q: What do I do if I need to reschedule my party?
A: Contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel.
Rescheduled or cancelled with:
14 days or more notice can reschedule without any additional fees. Cancellations lose deposit if less than 14 days before event.
13-8 days notice will incur a $50.00 rescheduling fee. Cancellations lose deposit.
7-4 days notice will incur a $75.00 rescheduling fee. Cancellations will be responsible for 50% of the party price.
3 days or less notice will be responsible for 100% of the total party price.
Q: Can I bring my own decorations, balloons and/or goodie bags?
A: The party room is festively decorated with colorful plates, cups, napkins, balloons and décor. However, if you would like a specific theme or additional balloons or goodie bags, then yes you may bring your own and we will help you set them up. We have some restrictions: No piñata’s, streamers, confetti, or silly-string. They are just too messy and require too much clean up time. Use of any of these, or exceedingly messy parties, will incur an additional cleaning fee of $50.00.
Q: When should I order my party extras (cake, pizza, beverages, etc.)?
A: You can place your order for extras when booking your party online, in person or over the phone. If you would like to make changes or additions once your party is booked, please give us a call. Please try to notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled party to make sure we can accommodate your changes. We can make some last minute changes at the time of you party like additional pizzas, beverages, balloons, etc.
Q: How many people does a large pizza serve or how much pizza do I need?
A: It does vary a bit depending on appetites, but generally a large pizza serves 8 children (1-2 slices each) or 4 adults (3 slices each).
Q: How much cake do I need or how many people do a ½ sheet cake serve?
A: A ½ sheet cake is 13”x18” uncut, so 32-48 servings from a ½ sheet.
Q: Can a guest play while wearing a cast?
A: Sorry, but due to safety concerns, guests wearing a cast or other medical devices (splints, slings, braces, etc.) will not be permitted to participate on the play equipment. We welcome these guests to attend your party and they will not be counted in your party attendance total, but they will not be allowed on the inflatable equipment.
Q: Will there be staff to help with the guests in the play area and in the party room?
A: Our friendly staff will always be present to supervise safe play and to assist you in your party room so you can enjoy your party experience. If you need any help during your party, please let us know. When your party is over, we do all the clean-up!
Q: Who sets up and cleans up the party room?
A: We do! We will set up the room the way you want and we take care of the clean-up when you are done. Please note, however, that extra messy parties may incur a $50.00 cleaning fee. We want you to have a great time, but please don’t trash the place!
Q: Is it appropriate to tip the Monkey House staff?
It is welcome and appreciated, but not required, to tip your Party Host (Zoo Keeper) if you’d like.
Q: What should we wear?
A: Comfortable athletic type clothing is recommended; Shirts and pants- short or long, of course. Socks are required for everyone who plays on the amusement equipment, including adults. We also sell socks, just in case you forget them. We recommend long-sleeve shirts and nylon or cotton pants since they make for faster sliding and prevent friction burns.
Prohibited items: Metal watches, jewelry, clothes with zippers, hooks, buckles, rivets, studs or spikes, denim or other clothing with metal studs, and large belt buckles. So, no jeans with the sparklie studs on the butt, please! We know you look marvelous in them, but these items tend to scratch and cut the inflatable equipment, please do not wear them. Regular jeans are fine.
Q: What time should we arrive at the party?
A: All guests, including the host family, should arrive about 10 minutes before the scheduled party time. We need to collect signed waivers and review our safety rules with all participants before the party starts. We ask that you do not arrive more than 15 minutes early because there will likely be other parties in the lobby.
Q: Do I need to stay at the party?
A: The party host is required to stay at the party. Other adults are also welcome to stay and play as well, but they are not required to stay as long as the party host is present and accountable for the kids, and emergency contact information is provided. ‘Drop-offs’ are not allowed during Open Play.
Q: Can my guests spend more time in the play area?
A: Play time in the arena is limited to your scheduled party time. We have found that most kids are pretty thirsty, hungry and wore-out after an hour in the play arena.
However, if you want a longer party than 2 hours, please contact us and we can book a 3 ½ hour Mongo Party (2 hours in the play arena and 1 ½ hour in party room), but they must be scheduled in advance and cost a bit more.
